Monday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


During a search conducted by police and commando forces in Um el-Fahm, a rifle was uncovered in a home along with a magazine and a large quantity of ammunition. A 29-year-old male was taken into custody.

**Schindler’s list containing the names of 801 Jews was discovered between research notes in a New South Whales State Library in Australia. The 13-page document was typed on April 18, 1945.

**A survey by the Manufacturers Association of Israel warns that the metal, electrical and infrastructure industry could shed 10,000 employees this year, on top of the 3,500 jobs lost since September 2008

** Former Knesset speaker MK Dalia Itzik was appointed as chairwoman of the Kadima faction.
