Rabbi Berland Sends a Message to his Chassidim From Undisclosed Location

berlRabbi Eliezer Berland has sent a message to his talmidim, his first communication with chassidim since fleeing Holland.

Rav Berland, who is Rosh Yeshiva of Shuvu Banim, lost an appeal to the Supreme Court in Holland and faced extradition to Israel to stand trial for alleged assaults against women. The Rav managed to flee Holland before he was taken into custody for extradition, presumably to a country that does not have an extradition treaty with Israel.

The message was sent on erev Shabbos Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av from an undisclosed locale. “One may not rest for a single day. A man must be moving and not stop for a moment. All the time to be mechazeik. Now we merit travels, the likes of which we have not seen since creation. The travels of each of us are written before we are born. All of the travels of a man are by the word of Hashem”.

After the rav fled, one his gabbaim who returned to Holland to take some items that were forgotten, was detained and questioned by authorities trying to locate the rabbi, and later released.

  1. If only this colossal chillul Hashem would come to an end. The Israeli govt will get him eventually. One can’t run away for ever. Snowden did escape to Russia. Is that where the Rabbi went? Maybe Iran took him in. The Nturai Karta have good connections.

  2. YWN should state the truth. Rabbi Berland Shlita has not faced extradition to Israel to stand trial for alleged assaults against women. He has not been charged with any offence. The zionist police want to “talk” to him. We all know what that means. They want to degrade the holy Torah. Rabbi Berland is standing up for Kovod HaTorah. Do you really think he wants to run from place to place for his own kovod?

  3. dear, temimosdige sima batsheva, why is rav berland sooooo scared of the ‘zionist’ police having a chat with him?!
why is he on the run all the time!?
true, innocent until proven guilty, BUT…

Ask avigdor lieberman. He has been under investigation for 20 years? Hasnt been convicted of any wrongdoing. You got it wrong. Its guilty until proven innocent In israel as well as in the us of a.

(From your comment its more than just obvious you also believe in guilty until proven innocent.)

  5. joe shmoe: i did ask why is he sooooo scared to have a nice chat, over some biscuits and a cuppa with the zionist police?
if there was nothing to worry about, why is the rabbi on the run?????
i’m just asking, but so far none of the breslover’s that i’ve spoken with, have given me ANY answer – they themselves do not know!!!
