Brooklyn – More than 150 local residents attended Tuesday night’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Outreach event hosted by Council Member Simcha Felder (D – Brooklyn). The program brought DEP representatives as well as employees from the Department of Finance to the Boro Park Y to help residents resolve overdue water bills and assist property owners with liens on their homes by arranging sensible payment plans.
“Events like these are a great way to connect people with the help they need,” says Felder. “I was thrilled to see so many problems resolved Tuesday night.”
Department of Finance personnel answered attendees’ questions on subjects including foreclosures and the Senior Citizens Homeowners Property Tax Exemption (SCHE). This is the second year in a row that Council Member Felder has sponsored such an event.
