Israel was quick to express its displeasure over the announced signing of an agreement between the US, Western nations and Iran. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called the agreement ”An historic mistake for the world”, and after speaking with US President Barak Obama, he announced in English that “Israel is not bound by the nuclear deal”.
The prime minister highlighted the deal is an “incentive” for Iran not to change, referring to Iran as “the terrorist regime in Iran”.
President Obama was quick to address the nation and boast his success, sending a clear message to Congress that he will veto and attempt to block the deal.
From Israel’s perspective, Iran cashed in, winning all around as economic sanctions will be lifted and Tehran will continue with its nuclear program, now with the backing of the US and Western nations. “Iran will get a jackpot, a cash bonanza of hundreds of billions of dollars, which will enable it to continue to pursue its aggression and terror in the region and in the world. This is a bad mistake of historic proportions.”
