Five Jews affiliated with Yeshivat Ateret Kohanim entered a building purchased by the yeshiva organization in the so-called Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Yerushalayim on Wednesday. Shortly after exercising their right to the property, Arabs gathered in protest, well-aware a counter-claim filed by them will tie the property up in the legal system.
The Arabs did just that and one Jewish man and an Arab man were called in for questioning, each requested to show proof of ownership of the building in question. One Arab man was also arrested for attempted assault of a police officer.
Ateret Kohanim has played a leading role in the liberation of areas of the Old City that have been occupied by Arabs since the liberation of the Old City in the June 1967 Six Day War.
