200 youths entered a number of buildings in the abandoned IDF base in Mevo Shilo in Shomron in an effort to resettle the location following the terror attack that claimed the life of Malachi Rosenfeld HY”D.

Malachi Moshe Rosenfeld was hit by terrorist gunfire in a vehicle traveling from Yishuv Eli to his home community of Kochav HaShachar in Shomron earlier this month. Three others were wounded in the attack.

A large force of security troops arrived at the base to remove the youths. The force included IDF soldiers, Civil Administration agents, border police and Yassam commando police.

A scuffle resulted between security forces and the youths. Police used zip ties to tie youths to poles to prevent them from interfering in their mission to oust the entire group. The youths report that police used unnecessary and unjustifiable force in the evacuation. A number of youths were detained by police at an unknown location.
