Carp appears to be the fish in demand for Pesach, with many grinding it down to make gefilte fish [Israel style].
Kibbutz Rupin in the Bet Shean Valley, which raises carp, reports it fish pond will ship 200 tons of the fish before Pessach. Kibbutz Rupin officials are pleased to report they do not feel the economic crunch regarding their fish business, reporting that carp remains the most popular followed by Anon (tilapia) and Buri (mullet).
