During an official state visit to the Czech Republic, President Shimon Peres stated the incoming Israeli administration remains committed to achieving peace with Israel’s neighbors. The president stated he is confident the new administration will make strides towards achieving this goal.

Peres however stated that while this is the case, this will not be done by compromising national security and defense interests.
