Hamas reports that Israel has turned to the terrorist regime in Gaza via a European shaliach towards getting back the bodies of IDF soldiers 2nd-Lt. Hadar Goldin and Sgt. Oren Shaul HY”D, both fell in the line of duty last summer during Operation Protective Edge, the Turkish media reports.
The report continues that Hamas is unwilling to entertain any request prior to Israel releasing all the terrorists released in the Shalit deal and have since been rearrested.
When he entered into his post, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkott stated Israel will do whatever it can towards the return of the bodies of the soldiers for kvura in Israel. The IDF Chief’s words were echoed by Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, who stated the return of the bodies of the soldiers from Operation Protective Edge remains a priority for Israel.
