A man who returned from Africa in recent weeks has been hospitalized in New Jersey as he is showing signs and symptoms of Ebola. Caution is also being taken regarding a Lakewood police officer and an unspecified number of emergency medical service officials who apparently were in contact with the man being hospitalized. The hospitalized man is reportedly from Neptune, NJ.
The appropriate local and national health officials have been notified and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has already been alerted and its officials are involved in testing to determine the man’s condition, which includes vomiting.
Authorities have begun tracking to determine who may have come into contact with the Neptune man and they too are being monitored. As in all cases such as this one, authorities urge the general public to remain calm.
