An 83-year-old Nazareth Illit resident was apprehended on the HaSargel Road in the Jezreel Valley traveling in his Subaru at 191KPH (115 MPH) when the speed limit was 90KPH (55 MPH). the elderly motorist explained to highway police he was in a somewhat of a rush to return home.

A police officer on the scene exercised his authority and canceled the senior citizen’s license on the spot, for thirty days, during which time he will be called to the Nazareth Traffic Court to answer for his transgression.

Police report a check of his driving record reveals over the decades he has been operating a motor vehicle he has a few and only minor violations.

Route 65 is one of the more dangerous roadways in Israel, recording no less than 10 fatal collisions in 2008.
