Retired president of the High Court of Justice, Prof. Aaron Barak, known for his ultra-libertarian rulings, is calling to find a common ground to minimize the competitiveness and friction between the secular and rabbinical courts.
Barak called on finding a way to end the conflicts between the courts during a meeting with Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar Shlita in an address in a Hod HaSharon law college.
Barak also used the opportunity to call on incoming Justice Minister Prof. Yaakov Ne’eman to create a totally independent judicial authority, unlinked to the ministry, which would include the secular and rabbinical courts.
