R’ Gavriel Sasson’s wife, Gila, who was severely burned in a blaze that swept through their NY home, was released from the hospital. Seven of their children perished in the blaze. Daughter Tziporah was among the survivors, along with her mom.
Gavriel spoke with Kol Berama Radio host Moti Lavi, explaining his wife returned home on erev Shabbos and she is happy to be home. She will continue to receive treatment at home. She will have to continue rehabilitation.
Rav Gavriel added “We did not return to the same house. Our home was destroyed. We are in my mother’s home for we need assistance. My wife has a great deal of emunah and I am shocked in her ability to look forward and build towards the future. She is very strong”.
“He explains life continues for there is no alternative. We observed a number of yomim tovim, Pesach, Lag B’Omer, Shavuos, and many Shabbatot, which are less difficult but I know with each passing day I am becoming stronger. It is hard to explain but when we get to a bridge, we go over it”.
“One cannot know what will be but HKBH assist with each moment. B”H we have the correct outlook regarding the future. We do not look back. All of the happiness we shared with the children strengthens us. The world is temporary so we await the future when we will be together again. For now we just miss them temporarily” concluded Rav Gavriel.
Rav Gavriel calls on the tzibur to continue being mispallel for Gila bas Francis and Tziporah bas Gila bsoch kol cholei am yisrael.

אמונה &ביטחון beyond human comprehension. A living mussar! May Hashem give them the strength to go on and on
Respect and awe.
Aside from the achdus engendered, the only ray of light that I took from the tragic events over the last year, is the fact that they have really given us some mega heroes. Rabbi Sasson, Mrs Fraenkel, Mrs Shaer and Mrs Yifrah have probably inspired us more than we may have inspired them.
They are beyond incredible IMHO
