During a formal ceremony held in the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv, IDF Chief Rabbi Brigadier-General Avichai Ronsky signed an “Adi” organ donor card as did Chief Medical Officer Brigadier-General Nachman Ash.
Ash expressed his hope that the military’s program will serve to encourage soldiers and civilians to follow suit, to sign this life-saving effort.
NOTE: The IDF Chief Rabbinate in the matter of organ donations relies on the ruling of 5740 by then Chief Rabbis Avraham Kahane Shapira zt”l and Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu Shlita.
