Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotevely and Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dore Gold, together with an inter-ministerial legal team, held a briefing on Sunday, 27 Sivan, on the publication of the Israeli report on the 2014 Gaza conflict.
The report reviews the events leading up to the military operation – Operation Protective Edge – and includes: details about war crimes perpetrated by Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip; the conduct of the IDF forces during the operation; military and legal challenges faced by the IDF (such as fighting in a heavily populated area against a terrorist organization that used civilians as human shields); Israel’s humanitarian efforts; the story of Israel’s home front under attack; and more.
The report reveals that Israeli actions are in accordance with international law and that Israel conducts investigations into specific incidents at its own initiative.
