For 22-year-old Roy Schwartz, arranging Shabbos transportation in the Tel Aviv area is vital, so much so that he cashed in the bonus he received from the IDF upon completing his service to launch his initiative, providing a shuttle service to and from the Tel Aviv beach. He hopes the new effort will provide transportation on Shabbos from Ramat Gan and Givatayim to the beach in Tel Aviv and back. Schwartz explains he views the investment as a loan to the student union, explaining those using the service will fund it in the future. He explains his service is similar to the Shabus project in Yerushalayim.
The new service, dubbed “Noa Tenua” (נוע תנועה ), is operating from 09:00-18:00 to service Tel Avivians wishing to get to and from the beach.
Schwartz explains his initiative is a collective effort and not a transportation service. While the service is free at present, beginning in July the fare will be 9 NIS. Anyone wishing to take advantage of the service must register in advance on the website and pay the 20 NIS registration fee. This permits him to bypass legal restrictions prohibiting operating a transportation service. After registering, users will pay using the smartphone HopOn app.
Schwartz adds that in just a few hours after spreading the word via Facebook he received hundreds of ‘likes’.

Ah Rabono shel olam! look at how much chessed your children want to do for other people
How is it newsworthy to report that the hilonim do not keep Shabbos. They have been off the derekh for several generations, so it isn’t exactly “news”.
It is sad that the young man does not have a better understanding of shabbos. No abusive comments or protests will change the damage to his outlook. May he enjoy his oneg shabbos, perhaps one day he will come to a deeper appreciation of its spirituality.
Religious coercion is for the ISIS crowd.
@3 Well said.
First time commenting but i cant believe TYW let nathanderweise’s comment thru “may he enjoy his oneg shabbos”!!!!! Making excuses for this guy is one thing, but al ze ne’emar “hes so openminded his brains fell out”
What is the purpose of this article? Maybe YWN should include the website in the article? Is YWN giving free advertising to desecrators of Shabbos? And where are the chareidim of Tel Aviv? They should be putting down tables at the site of the pickup, with fruit, cake, and kiddush, and pamphlets explaing the beauty of Shabbos and the problems associated with desecrating it.
#3 … no, he knows its wrong and is doing it none the less
#3: “his oneg Shabbos”????? He’s not likely “one day to come to a deeper appreciation blah blah blah…” as the gemoroh says Choteh Umachti’s Teshuva is not accepted….
Horav Hagaon Rabbi Shia Piron Shlita, paskened that this is %100 Muttar. If “they” need transportation, you must provide it.
Nice Chales,
Can you send me the recipe please.
