Former Shas party MK and cabinet minister Shlomo Benizri collapsed during a live broadcast on Kol Chai Radio. The broadcast was halted and music was played.

The incident occurred during a Tuesday evening broadcast 15 Sivan. Benizri stopped speaking and one of the show’s producers realized he collapsed in the studio during his broadcast.

Ichud Hatzalah responded to the studio and after checking Benizri’s condition it was decided not to transport him to a hospital. Benizri insisted on continuing the broadcast, explaining to listeners what occurred. He told listeners he was not feeling well prior to his weekly program and gambled that he would be able to do the two-hour show but it appears that this will not be the case. “B’ezras Hashem I will return next week” he told his listeners and took leave of the studio.
