With summer rapidly approaching, Birthright continues sending young adults to Israel for the 10-day experience. 4,000 Birthright participants arrived in Israel Thursday for their 10-day experience.
Birthright officials report 47 groups totaling 1,840 participants from 32 countries arrived in Israel on Thursday for the 10-day experience. According to Birthright CEO Gidi Mark, over 30,000 young adults will be arriving in Israel during the course of the summer to take part in the program as the organization is marking its 15th anniversary and 500,000 participants.

I was on the very first Birthright trip in January 2000. While the program is imperfect, I credit the program with helping to make me a chozer b’teshuva. I personally know dozens of people who were secular before the trip and are frum now. I imagine there are hundreds.
