The situation is intolerable are the words that are being heard over and over again, with Gedolei Yisrael lamenting the yisurim that are afflicting Am Yisrael without anyone offering a real solution.

According to the HaMevaser report, the “pain and suffering” is evident in all aspects of life in Eretz Yisrael, the growing number of orphans, the unemployment, deteriorating security, the threats from Iran, Syria and others, the sharp increase in illness, and of course, the three bochrim imprisoned under very harsh conditions in Japan due to their innocence and naiveté.

Responding to the call of the hour is the Linat HaChesed Organization, backed by Gedolei Yisrael and taking the example from Esther, “to gather the Jews for three days, nights and days”. As such, beginning today, Sunday, 12 Adar, there will be a continuous recital of tehillim, day and night, until Tuesday night, Purim, at the Kever of Shimon HaTzaddik, who davened in earnest on behalf of Am Yisrael.

The first third of the tehillim is dedicated to “prisoners of poverty and iron”, namely the prisoners in Japan, followed by Monday, focusing on the illness and youths who abandon the Torah derech, and concluding on Tuesday with cries pertaining to the loss of earnings for so many and the multitudes unable to find their zivug and marry.
