The man wanted for attacking at least four people with a hammer has been shot by police in midtown Manhattan.
Police say they have shot and critically wounded a man who was swinging a hammer at an officer in midtown Manhattan.
New York Police Commissioner William Bratton and Deputy Chief William Aubry said Wednesday that the suspect was wanted in four hammer attacks earlier in the week.
They say an officer fired four times when the man tried to assault his partner. Two of the shots hit the suspect.
Bratton says the encounter was caught on video.
Both officers are being treated at a hospital. Their injuries are not serious.
The shooting took place shortly after 10 a.m. blocks from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.

Yes, they’re racist because he tried to lunge a hammer at them. Keep your comments to yourself.

He could have looked like President Hussein’s son, if he had had one!
