ElAl to reduce ticket prices

ELAL has announced that it will reduce its surcharge on tickets, following the fall in prices of jet engine fuel. This will result in the reduction in fares to all destinations. The reduction will apply to all classes, and to tickets sold from October 5, and will come into effect for outgoing flights as from October 18.
Tickets for long-distance flights will be reduced by $28, while tickets for destinations in Europe will be reduced by $18, and by $12 on tickets to regional destinations. El Al CEO Haim Romano said that the company decided to update fares not only when fuel costs increase but also when they fall. Other airlines have made similar announcements.

  1. What a ridiculous question!
Did you ever purchase a product which subsequently went on sale, then return to the to store and ask them to refund you the difference?!? If I was the store owner, I would ask you the following: If you purchased this item on sale, after the sale – when the item was back at the regular selling cost – would you return to offer to pay the difference you saved?
El Al is entitled to lower their prices, they don’t owe you anything because you purchased the ticket earlier….give me a break!

  2. Steinway: there are major stores that have a policy that if the price goes down within 30 days they will credit you the difference.
I am not asking for the rebate for the cost of the ticket, but a rebate for the gas surcharge which the airlines are lowering.
