12:45PM EST: The Lakewood Fire Department along with Lakewood Hatzolah are on the scene of a structure in the heart of Lakewood. Sources tell YWN that flames are “through the roof” of a private dwelling located on 7th Street between Privateway & Lakewood Avenue.
Bichasdei Hashem the entire family has been safely evacuated from the structure without any injuries.
Fire fighters from nearby towns (Howell etc) have been activated for mutual aid assistance in fighting the blaze – which has since spread to a shed behind the residence.
Expect traffic delays in the area as traffic is always heavy at this time in Lakewood on an Erev Shabbos.

YWN Editor,
please let us know how we can help the family
The resident (a renter) has nothing left and an emergency fund is being set up to fill his basic needs. Checks can be made to Keren Avreichim and mailed to 232 Hearth Ct. West
Lakewood, NJ 08701
GET RENTERS INSURANCE it will save you alot of heart ache and it only costs about $200 a year
for some people, $200 a year is a lot more than they can afford
Can someone explain why it takes the fire dept 25 minutes to come?Do we not pay enough taxes?
