The Bayit Yehudi party central committee on Sunday 21 Iyar approved the party’s coalition agreement with Likud and party leader Naftali Bennett’s ministerial appointments.
Bennett will serve as Minister of Education and on the Security Cabinet. Ayelet Shaked will serve as Minister of Justice and on the Security Cabinet. Uri Ariel will serve as Minister of Agriculture including heading the World Zionist Organization Settlement Division.
Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan will serve as Deputy Minister of Defense. Bennett opted to ignore the letter from many party members urging him to appoint retired IDF Colonel Moti Yogev to that post due to his wealth of military experience including an officer and commander of elite units. Bennett however opted to go with Ben-Dahan who was a major in the artillery corps. Nissim Slomiansky will be the chairman of the Ministerial Law Committee.
