Rav Yerachmiel Weiss explains that the first yahrzeit memorial for the eight high school students murdered in the terror attack will be held in the yeshiva tonight, Thursday night, at 5:30pm, in Yashlatz, the Merkaz HaRav High School which the students attended at the time of their murders.

He explained tonight was chosen rather than the actual yahrzeit on Rosh Chodesh Adar since it is customary not to give hespedim on rosh chodesh and the yeshiva decided they preferred to permit each family to mark the yahrzeit in their way, each by the kever of their beloved son.

A public memorial will be held later Thursday night, at 9:30pm in the Yeshurun Shul in the center of Yerushalayim. The chief rabbis and other dignitaries were invited to attend.
