Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) announced today his endorsement of Geoffrey Davis who is running in a special election for an open seat in Brooklyn (the 43rd Assembly District), which includes parts of Crown Heights, Lefferts Gardens and East Flatbush.
“Geoffrey Davis has represented his community for many years,” said Hikind. “He stands up for what he believes in and fights for the issues that are important to his community. One of those issues is Education Investment Tax Credits. I’ve been fighting hard for EITC and would welcome another colleague in the Assembly who will help us champion this vital legislation.
“I’ve been known to support Republicans when I believed they are the individuals who will best serve our community’s interests. We have approximately 80 supporters now for EITC in the Assembly where our Democratic majority needs other like-minded Democrats to push through this important legislation, which helps all of our families.
“There isn’t a single issue that concerns us more than education for our children. State funds and tax credits for education for all of our children, including those in private and parochial schools, is essential. Geoffrey Davis understands EITC. Geoffrey Davis is a leader and will be a strong fighter as he represents his constituents’ best interests. And Geoffrey Davis has my enthusiastic endorsement.”
