Rabbi Eliezer Carlebach of Meron Hachnasas Orchim explains he and his staff are ready for the expected masses of mispallalim that will be visiting Meron and Kever Rashbi on Lag B’Omer. According to the rav, they are preparing for 200,000 or more people based on previous years.

Carlebach explains the last-minute preparations are still underway but the bulk of the work has been accomplished. The Hachnasas Orchim organization will be distributing free food and drink to visitors. A giant air conditioned tent that can accommodate about 1,000 people simultaneously is set in place.

According to Carlebach, food and drink will be disturbed from Tuesday before Lag B’Omer. They expect to distribute 40,000 sandwiches, 80,000 hot dishes, 45,000 fish dishes, 1,500 trays of kugel, and 200,000 liters of cold drinks.

The Hachnasas Orchim run by Rav Carlebach and Rabbi Perlmutter operates year-round, always concerned with the many mispallalim to the Rashbi.

The rabbis conclude that they daven the operation should be successful, without incident and all of Klall Yisrael’s tefilos are accepted.
