Rav Yisrael Eichler reports thousands attended the Yissachar and Zevulun Day in the Belzer Beis Medresh on Agrippas Street in Yerushalayim on Monday. The notables included first and foremost the Belzer Rebbe Shlita and Maran Rav Y.L. Shteinman Shlita.
Rav Eichler explained that businessmen came and adopted avreichim, committing to support their Torah learning, receiving merit for their learning in return.
This he explains is a Belzer minhag, which is especially crucial today during extremely difficult financial times when many avreichim are struggling to continue their Torah learning with the realization they lack funds for basic food necessities.
Rav Eichler stated the “treat of the day” was the inspiring words of Rav Shteinman, and the achdus seen regarding the willingness of businessmen to undertake the financial commitment to keep the Torah community from collapse. He added the presence of the two Gedolei Torah was “truly an inspiration to all present”.

is “Yissachar Zevulun” a “belzer minhag” !?
#1 this is by far not 2 belzer minhag. it’s a very nice and uniting thing practiced amongst many communities and has reached many successes. i’m not belz and been involved in the business part of it for many yrs. may Hashem help further and all those involved.
