The leader of the Shuvu Banim leader Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlita was detained by authorities in Holland on Sunday morning, 7 Iyar. According to the report, the rav and his driver were detained for 90 minutes. Kikar Shabbos News reports that it appears the driver was stopped for excessive speeding, and not due to anything to do with the legal proceedings against Rabbi Berland. It remains unclear if the rabbi and the driver were arrested or released after being detained.

Why should the Rabbi have been arrested? Itw as the driver who was speeding.
hershel2626, they’re Jews aren’t they? Jews have a different standard and it’s not always just. Why detain for speeding? Just give them a ticket? Because they are Jews. Holland isn’t America. Europe is an anti-Semitic continent by culture.
Hershel, it’s simply another opportunity for the Israeli media (which our dear YWN is so fond of quoting) to make the Rabbi look bad. Somehow all the details are clear to them, however it is still unclear whether the Rabbi was arrested – gives you points to ponder and definitely raises their ratings in Google search.
