The old joke asked “how many clowns can you fit into a Volkswagen” but in this case it is not a joke and not a circus act. In fact, this case deals with sheep and goats, 11 to be exact, which Beersheva district police found inside a single vehicle, a Volkswagen sedan.
A police patrol on Tuesday evening 25 Nissan stopped a vehicle at Chativat HaNegev Junction for a routine inspection. The officers were somewhat surprised when they found 11 sheep and goats inside the vehicle and trunk. The driver, in his 30s, was detained for questioning. Veterinary officials were summoned to the scene.
Israel Police Inspector Shimon Ochana explains the car was stopped for a routine inspection. He explains the sheep and goats were pressed in the vehicle under harsh conditions.

That’s tzaar baalei chaim! Was it an Arab or a Jew? Maybe they were stolen. (At least it wasn’t a cache of weapons.)
#1 It was a Bedouin and was probably stolen.
Good thing they didn’t overheat. Isn’t Israel having a heatwave?

Why is it probably stolen if the driver is a Bedouin? Some of the nicest neighbors I had in Israel were Bedouin. They were always there to help out when needed. I wish I could say the same for some of my Jewish neighbors.
