Residents of Kfar Chabad ousted an Arab poll watcher by force, calling his presence a “provocation”. They explained if Baruch Marzel is unsuited to be a poll watcher in Um el-Fahm, then an Arab may not fill the position in Kfar Chabad.

Good for Chabad!
Bad analogy. Baruch Marzel is a well known activist, and is well known for neither advocating nor practising nonviolence. His Palestinian equivalents are for the most part in jail or exile.
“No name” poll watchers are not the issue. Political activists who don’t work for the major parties are not really needed, since the parties do a good job of keeping an eye on each other.
