Yaakov Katz, who heads the Likud HaLeumi team, visited Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita on Monday, seeking a bracha from the Gadol HaDor before Tuesday’s general election.
According to the Rav’s grandson, Ketzaleh was greeted with “simcha by the Rav like none other of the candidates who came for brachot”, including the chareidi parties.
The two spoke of Katz’s major role in the building of Eretz Yisrael, including the chareidi communities of Modi’in Illit and Betar Illit in his capacity as an assistant to Ariel Sharon when he served as minister of housing.
The Rav Shlita was reportedly pleased to hear from Katz that Das Torah will be the guiding light of his party.
