The Levaya of Mr. Jerry Greenberg Z”L, former Mayor of Lakewood, is taking place on Friday morning at the Seventh Street Chapel in Lakewood at 10:00AM.
Jerry was well known in the Lakewood community as “MY MAYOR”.
He served on the planning board for many years and really stuck out his neck to help the Yeshiva community, long before the days that the Yeshiva was the majority in town.
He frequently took abuse from the anti-yeshiva citizens, and was not ashamed to back the needs of the yeshiva.
As the Mayor for several terms he is credited with helping the phenomenal growth of the yeshiva population which has earned the reputation of being the fastest growing frum community in the United States.
The Lakewood community will forever be indebted to him.
