A delegation of character witnesses left Bnei Brak, heading to Japan, to bear witness on behalf of the yeshiva bochrim who remain incarcerated for their naiveté.
Among the members of the delegation are HaGaon Rav Mendel Shafran Shlita and Bnei Brak Mayor Rav Yaakov Asher. They plan to return to Eretz Yisrael by Shabbos.
Some of the youths imprisoned in Japan are known personally to them and they plan to make an effort to impress upon the court the exemplary character of the prisoners during their trial this week.
Rabbanim are calling on the tzibur to continue reciting tefillos and tehillim on their behalf.
Yaakov Yosef ben Reizel, Yoel Zeev ben Mirel Risa Chava and Yosef ben Itte Rivka.

I want to be part of this too, is thier a fund to mail $ to cover the legal expenses? plz post
why is the guy who put them up to it walking around scot free?
I’m not a posek but I would assume they can even testify on shabbos due to the pikuach nefashos involved. Even so I hope they are successful and make it back to their families before shabbos.
Tax deductible donations should be made out to Chayim V’Chesed and can be sent for the boys’ defense fund to:
