Sunday Evening News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Four firebombs were hurled at vehicles traveling on the Gush Etzion-Chevron Road near Beit Omer during the evening rush hour. Baruch Hashem, no injuries were reported. There were reports of damage however.

**Israeli motorists traveling on the Trans-Shomron Highway during the evening rush hour were targeted in rock-throwing attacks by Arabs near the Arab village of Marda. No injuries were reported.

**Central Election Committee Chairman Justice Eliezer Rivlin rejected a requested from the Israeli Arab parties to disqualify election commercials from the Yisrael Beitenu Party on the grounds they are discriminatory against the Israeli Arab community.

**Police and Communications Ministry inspectors raided a pirate radio station operating in an abandoned building in Yishuv Har Bracha in Shomron. Broadcast equipment was confiscated.  No arrests were reported. Police report the station was interfering with area aerial traffic transmissions.

**A firebomb was thrown at a bus traveling near el-Aroub in the Bet Lechem district. No injuries.

**An armed bandit made off with NIS 2,000 from a Ra’anana Postal Bank located on Achuza Street.
