Sorry, Mayor Mike – your dream for a third term could be dead in the Hudson.
More than half of city residents still disapprove of the City Council’s extension of term limits, which will allow Mayor Michael Bloomberg to run for a third term, according to a NY1 poll conducted this month.
57 percent of New Yorkers polled said that they disagree with the City Council’s vote to overturn the term-limits law late last year. Nearly half of the voters also said that the mayor’s handling of the term-limits law made them think less of the two-term billionaire.
Polled residents also overwhelmingly said that the No. 1 voting issue on their mind for the 2009 mayoral election will be the job market and the economy.
The city’s financial deals with the Yankees and the Mets also met resounding disapproval in the poll – 59 percent of voters said they disagreed with the city’s multi-million dollar pledge to the ball clubs.

Mayor Bloomberg is a whiny nasal self interested mogul who gets to keep a station on air with his name on it while he begs for three terms, raises parking ticket rates, dicates to people when how or where to smoke, eat, what to eat… enough already. Let’s send this hot air funnel back to Boston, where he’s sure to head the second he doesn’t have to stay in New York City one more second.
HAS DONE NOTING FOR THE YESHIVAS ? hes the mayor of NYC, you have to understand your not the only one in the world… u want him to give all the money to your Yeshiva for some extra tuna bagels…. this mayor has done and great job for NYC and even further he has shown his public support of israel, may gd bless the mayor and he will be mayor for 4 more years so DEAL WITH IT
I agree to ya all! BUT in America, one is intitled to vote for whoever he/she wishes! How could term limits possibly be constitutional? It seems ludicrous! I can vote for you and you for me in a write in ballot! If enough people want a guy to run their government, hey that’s democracy, wheter you like it or not!
I don’t get this term limit thing to begin with!
