Large Numbers Expected at Kever ’70 Zekeinim’


Large numbers of visitors are expected to make their way to the kever of the “Shivim Zekeinim” on Thursday night, located in Shomron, in the Arab village Ivata, near Shechem. The event is being organized by the Breslov-affiliated Yesod Olam organization, in coordination with the IDF and security officials. The timing coincides with their petira in the period of Yehoshua Ben-Nun, as is brought down in Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim.
 
Also buried in the village are the sons of Aaron HaCohen, Elazar and Itamar, and the IDF promises access to their kevarim as well.
 
Yesod Olam’s Rav Chaim Reicher has been working for years, bringing people to this kever and others, seeking to revive the visits and tefillos at kivrei tzaddikim with an emphasis on kivrei tzaddikim in Shomron.
 
Organizers in recent days have been meeting with security officials to finalize permits and security arrangements the daily HaMevaser reports. For security reasons, the mispalalim may only arrive late at night, in bulletproof buses, which will be leaving from Yerushalayim and Bnei Brak.
 
Organizers have also arranged for lighting and light refreshments.
