Jerusalem City Hall Sponsors Matzah Baking Workshop

matzahA first in Yerushalayim, a matzah baking workshop sponsored by Jerusalem City Hall. The event is taking place at Safra Square – City Hall sponsored by the city’s Israel Heritage Foundation intended to bring an air of Pesach to city residents.

Safra Square Plaza on 5 and 6 Nissan will be converted to a matza bakery during the afternoon hours. There will be a number of exciting stations designed to give the general public a real look at the matza baking process from making and mixing the dough to the finished product. The actual baking will take place adjacent to the workshop area in a closed area for obvious safety reasons. The baking will be limited to the professionals brought in for the two-day event.

The setup will permit 100 participants to bake matzos simultaneously during the 20 minutes shifts. Each participant will be permitted to take home three matzos.

The workshop will operate between the hours of 15:00-18:00 on both days.
