Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated on Tuesday night that the military response seen following the attack at Kissufim during the morning hours was not Israel’s response to the fatal ceasefire violation.
The Political-Security Cabinet is convening on Wednesday morning to discuss Israel’s response, which Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have indicated will be a stern one, stressing the attack will not be permitted to pass without an appropriate response.
Speaking with the media prior to entering the cabinet session, Shas leader Eli Yishai stated the government must order a major retaliatory action.
