Labor party leader Yitzchak Herzog spoke with Channel 2 News on Wednesday morning 27 Adar, the day following elections. While losing the elections Herzog is credited with rehabilitating his party, which earned 24 seats, a significant increase from its current 15 seats.
Herzog stated “Israel still needs an alternative voice, one that speaks the truth, and I remain confident that day will come”.
For now, it appears that Mr. Herzog will serve as leader of the opposition parties in Knesset.
(The number of seats may fluctuate. The Central Election Committee states the final numbers will be released Thursday morning, 28 Adar).
