MK Moshe Feiglin, who resigned from Likud, requested from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday, 25 Adar asking to permit him and a son to visit Har Habayis.
Feiglin explains that his son will IY”H be getting married on Tuesday 26 Adar, a son who was involved in an almost fatal vehicular crash but B’chasdei Hashem managed to defy the odds and recuperated.
“The machlokes between us regarding Har Habayis and matters of sovereignty is known. The prohibition against visiting Har Habayis, particularly MKs is infuriating and not acceptable in my eyes. However I thought my discreet request to Israel Police to visit Har Habayis for this special event would be met positively. In light of the response I received and the time remaining I understand I have no alternative but to openly and directly turn to you as a citizen to the prime minister”.
Feiglin awaits the prime minister’s response.

Moshe Feiglin:- I surmise that you were so overwhelmed with your son’s Aufruf this past Shabbos, especially if your son received Maftir, that the message of Parshas Poroh stating Chiyuv Kores for a Tomeh on Har haBayis, simply eluded you.
147: I know this is a difficult concept for some people and I am saying this from a standpoint of someone who DOES NOT go up to the Har HaBayis.
It’s not as clear cut as you pretend it to be. He goes to the Har HaBayis with the approval of his Daas Torah. There is a Machlokes about it. You can see youtube videos of Chassidim and others who do go.
After 1967, I remember, that there were Gedolim that said it was permissible provided you do the proper preparation and you know which sections are prohibited. Rav Moshe Feinstein ZTL’s son-in-law goes up and he wouldn’t if Reb Moshe said no.
You should be more tolerant of people who don’t hold as you do and do follow their Daas Torah.
