As Israel opens its eyes to day 4 of a shaky ceasefire, askanim in Ashdod are busying themselves with raising funds to assist many businesses and private residents who have fallen on hard times as a result of the Gaza War.

A campaign is being launched to get the message to chareidi communities around Eretz Yisrael, containing photos documenting the destruction in Ashdod from rocket attacks. The campaign enjoys the support of prominent rabbonim, who are calling on the tzibur to assist Ashdod residents seeking to get their lives back on track.

One of the prominent figures in Ashdod is Rav Chaim Pessach Halevy Horowitz, affiliated with the Belz Chassidus. The rav states there are 600 Ashdod families in need of assistance, explaining some of the private businesses suffered serious losses while many workers have not received salaries.
