Taking part in the Sunday afternoon Sharm el-Sheikh ceasefire summit, UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown expressed his concerns over Gaza’s isolation. He stated that efforts must be made to ensure the border crossings to Gaza are opened to permit free passage.
As was reported earlier, Britain remains committed to infusing additional 30 million pound sterling into the Gazan economy to assist, providing humanitarian aid, with Britain stating it is willing to maintain a naval patrol of the Gulf of Arden and the Red Sea to prevent weapons smuggling into Gaza from the sea.
The visiting European leader was critical of the Israeli offensive, stating too many innocent civilians, including children, were killed in the Israeli offensive.
