As Expected, the UN Sees the Arab Side [Only]

ban1.jpgUN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Shabbos called on Israel to include a timetable for any announcement of acceptance of a ceasefire agreement. The UN leader, who landed in the region last week, has been meeting with Arab leaders as he continues to issue statements condemning Israel, standing firmly behind the Arab agenda which has become synonymous with the international body.

Moon has repeatedly condemned Israeli strikes against UN compounds, using harsh terms in his reference to the IDF ongoing counter-terror operation in Gaza. The champion of impartiality and fair play has neglected to make any mention of Gilad Shalit, who remains prisoner for over 2.5 years without a single visit from any UN or International Red Cross official.

The UN and its Security Council also remained silent during most of the past eight years as Hamas terrorists launched rockets into the heart of Israeli population centers in unprovoked attacks that followed Israel’s unilateral disengagement from Gaza in 2005, turning over the once flourishing Jewish communities to the Hamas regime, which has since built itself into a formidable enemy and military threat to Israel, enjoying unconditional support from Hizbullah, Iran and Syria.

In addition, Egyptian leaders turned a blind eye as they permitted undeterred smuggling of weapons and ammunition into Gaza during the period since the disengagement, especially during the past months during the so-called ceasefire.
