Parents and family members of wounded IDF soldiers in Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah are questioning why they have “been forgotten”, stating soldiers in Soroka Medical Center (Beersheva) and Barzilai Hospital (Ashkelon) enjoy visits from high-ranking ministers, MKs, and IDF officers, while in Beilinson, the only official visitor to date was Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.
Three soldiers are admitted to Beilinson, two in serious condition and one moderate. A friend of one of the soldiers explained on Wednesday “It is difficult to see the fuss over the others, while they forgot the soldiers here”.
One parent believes this is the case because the media is concentrated in Beersheva to cover the war and because Soroka remains the primary hospital for soldiers.
A member of President Peres’ staff in response to the story explained that Mr. Peres traveled to Beersheva in a showing of solidarity and support, and on his way, he also visited hospitals on the route.
