8:29AM IL: Security officials are investigating the situation as a result of air raid sirens sounding in western Galil areas of northern Israel at this time.
Last week, terrorists fired rockets into the area.
8:33AM IL: Two explosions are being reported in Kiryat Shmona. At this point, it is unclear if rockets were fired into Israel. More to follow.
8:39AM: No injuries reported in the first siren episode in the western Galil. There is confirmation of at least one Katyusha rocket landing in the Kiryat Shmona areas, Israel’s Reshet Bet Radio reports. There was also a second siren in the Kiryat Shmona area. Security forces continue to respond and investigate. Kiryat Shmona residents are remaining in shelters at this time.
8:56AM IL: Two Katyusha rockets and a number of mortar shells landed in northern Israel. No injuries are being reported.
10:35AM IL: Israel reports two Katyusha rockets landed in the north. Baruch Hashem, there were no injuries or damage. Israel responded with very limited artillery fire.
Lebanon’s Arabic “The Future” News and Hizbullah al-Manara TV report that four rockets were fired into Israel and Israeli artillery returned fire with 8 artillery rounds.
Schools in Metula, Kiryat Shmona and area communities are holding classes in shelters and residents during the morning hours are still advised to remain close to shelters. School trips in the area have been canceled.
