Bris Held in Soroka Hospital, Near IDF Soldier Dvir Bar-Chai


Dvir [ben Leah] Bar Chai, 21, a Golani Brigade soldier, was gravely wounded in Gaza. Baruch Hashem, the family has seen significant improvement since he was first admitted, and remains optimistic that the tefillos of Am Yisrael will assist the doctors, the shlichim working towards Dvir’s complete recovery.

On Tuesday, Dvir’s nephew, a son of his sister Miriam had his bris. The grandparents, Tzviki and Leah decided together with Miriam to hold the bris in Soroka Hospital, near Dvir, not wishing to leave his side and aware Eliyahu attends a bris, and this they are certain will contribute to Dvir’s recovery.

Many were present, including prominent rabbonim, senior IDF commanders, and of course, family and friends. The scene was indeed a touching one, for the participants danced with the baby, Amichai, and all present felt the powerful emotions, the strength drawn from unprecedented achdus seen among Am Yisrael today.

Among those who held Amichai were Dr. Miki Sharaf, Soroka Hospital’s director-general, and Dr. Moti Klein, who heads ICU medicine and the leader of the team treating Dvir.
