Police report a pipe bomb was thrown at a building housing a Torah group in the center of Lod on Thursday. A second bomb failed to explode. Police view the attack as marking an increase in anti-Semitic attacks in the city.
Police quoted by the daily Haaretz state with certainty that the attackers were well aware the house targeted was a Jewish home, and the incident was no coincidence. According to Aaron Atias of the ‘Torah Garin’, the attack on Thursday was the third recent attack against them, including the burning of an Israeli flag and painting swastikas on the building.
