It has been cleared by the IDF for publication that a third IDF soldier was R”L killed in Gaza on Thursday. Captain Omer Rabinovich HY”D, of the Kfir Brigade was killed in a firefight in the central Gaza Strip Thursday, 8 January 2009.
Capt. Omer Rabinovitch, 23, of Arad, was killed in a heavy gun-battle with Hamas terrorists.
Capt. Rabinovitch is the 9th soldier to fall in the line of duty in Gaza fighting, in addition, 4 people have been killed in rocket attacks since Shabbos, 27 December 2008, when Operation Cast Lead was launched.
