A 75-year-old Jerusalem resident was robbed of 10,000 NIS after opening the door to his French Hill home in the northeast area of the capital bordering an Arab neighborhood.
The victim told police two Arab men knocked on his door during the morning hours. He believed they were municipality workers and opened the door. They immediately sprayed him with pepper spray and then placed him in a chair, tying him down with tape. They moved him near a bed and instructed him to point to where the safe is. They opened the safe and found 10,000 NIS in cash and then took his cellular telephone and fled.
The man eventually got free and a neighbor assisted him in summoning police. Police believe the perpetrators fled to a nearby Arab village.
