2:02PM IL: Hamas terrorists fired an anti-tank rocket at an IDF force operating in Gaza, killing an officer, Captain Ro’i Rosner, 27, from Cholon. The Kfir Brigade soldiers were attacked with an anti-tank rockets while operating in Central Gaza. Other soldiers were injured.

(Captain Rosner is referred to as major since after falling in action, one is elevated a rank prior to burial as is the military’s custom).

Funeral arrangements to be announced.

12:38PM IL: It is now permitted to announce that an IDF officer was killed in Gaza during the night. A number of soldiers were injured. No additional information may be released at this time.
